About This Work
Compares how the IDB and four peer institutions (AfDB, ADB, IFAD, and the World Bank) manage and assess the development effectiveness of their public sector lending operations. It analyzes differences in project design tools, evaluability assessments, monitoring and performance-rating systems, restructuring authority, completion reviews, and corporate-level tracking. Drawing on documents and interviews, the study identifies institutional contrasts and lessons to strengthen the IDB’s approach to managing for development results.
